 The Smoke Signals school newspaper has been named top school newspaper by the Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization. Megan Whitehurst, left was named top reporter, journalism teacher, Linda Evanchyk was named Florida Journalism Teacher of the Year, and Tia Thigpen named top editor. In addition, the ECPRO Adviser of the Year award was renamed the "Linda Evanchyk Adviser Award" in recognition of her contributions to scholastic journalism.
